Part of the usefulness of Twitter, in particular for small business and solopreneurs, is marketing. Whether you use Twitter to connect, to network, to find friends, to learn or to market, here are some learnings that play up natural introversion:
Do plan out your strategy for Twitter.
Do regularly check in on Twitter.
Do check in at different times of the day.
Do think before you tweet.
Do plan out your profile.
Do hold back information that you wouldn’t want to see in the daily paper.
Do use a photo or avatar that represents you.
Do, if at all possible, use a photo of you.
Do listen to others tweets – I like https://www.PeopleBrowsr.com for this.
Do listen and offer help to others.
Do Tweet with @ to show you do listen to others.
Do plan and automate, without harassment, any series of tweets.
Do Tweet links to helpful resources of any kind.
Do balance your own links with other resourceful links.
Do follow who you want to and how many you want to.
Do DM – direct message – any DMs you receive.
Do ask questions and you will build up credibility as well as add followers.
Do use #hashtags for words you want to be searchable, like #introvert and then encourage others by examples so you can search for what interests you.
Do add your Twitter link to your email signature, and other profiles.
Do be your authentic self.
Twitter can take time and that means energy. What it means for an introvert is to know what to do in order to conserve energy and maximize your effectiveness. What other do’s can you add that might be natural for your style?

As I tweeter in training, I appreciate your posts.
“Do be your authentic self.” Good advice.
I see twitter as a wonderful land of ideas that I can fly over and swoop down and investigate the ones that interest me.
