In 2009 one of my blogposts, 2009: The Year Being and Introvert Became Desirable I recognized then current blogs by introverts. These days there certainly are blogs for introverts, and more happening like from Susan Cain’s explosion on the scene with her TED talk, The Power of Introverts. This was a fabulous piece of her promotion for her book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. The internet proves to be a tremendous resource for and about introverts. And who better to dispel misunderstandings about what introversion is than other introverts. Actually, no one can do it better.
I listened with full attention to Cain’s video on TED last month. By her being loud she is helping all professionals who serve introverts. In addition to her inspiring talk, there are many introverts blogging. This helps everyone, introvert and extrovert preference alike. Take your pick of who you want to follow with some blog suggestions below.
CAUTION: as an introvert you may want to just select your top ones or else you can get overwhelmed these days.
From my Twitter connections I refer you to these introverts who blog fairly regularly:
- Alistair Miller, is a career coach based in London and blogs at to help others in their careers.
- Sophia Dembling with an upcoming book, The Introvert’s Way: Living a Quiet Life in a Noisy World, blogs at Psychology Today, The Introvert’s Corner. https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-introverts-corner
- Christie has a blog at The Introvert Zone. I’m not sure why we don’t know her last name, unless it’s an extreme introversion part of her at work or just a preference for privacy. The posts are always thoughtful and informative.
- Beth Buelow is The Introvert Entrepeneur and blogs at https://www.TheIntrovertEntrepreneur.com She interviewed me twice for her podcasts. She’s got a book coming out soon too!
- Nancy Ancowitz wrote, Self-Promotion for Introverts®: The Quiet Guide to Getting Ahead and blogs at
- Adam McHugh, Introverts in the Church, I did a thorough book review of it. Most of the book encourages the introvert to use their unique personality and gifts in any area of the church community. His first hand experiences; the detailed analysis of the introvert personality and his personal understandings honor and respect introverts everywhere.
- Merri Bame is an introvert who occasionally blogs communications skills and speaking tips for the introvert attorney at https://merribame.blogspot.com/
- Jennifer B. Kahnweiler, Ph.D., The Introverted Leader: Building on Your Quiet Strength. If you are thinking that because you are an introvert that you can’t be a leader, this one will change your mind forever. She is not an introvert but instead an extrovert who understands the introvert well.
There are a few others but these bloggers regularly have information that inspires, guides and raises the voice of introverts.
I’m not sure if she is still blogging but Susan’s Cain book, Quiet is available at Amazon in print and for Kindle.
In the past others who have been active with blogging but seem to either have moved on after a book release or are simply recharging – Lee Ann Lambert, Laurie Helgoe, and I know I’ve left off someone else.
PREDICTION: I’d bet many of these bloggers will have a book at one time or another and then take a much needed rest and recharge period from blogging.
Who did I miss? Can you give us their name, expertise and where they blog?

Wonderful post, and I saw at least one introvert whose blog I want to explore more. I really don’t know if I’m an introvert or an extrovert. I have thought that maybe I’m equally both. I certainly have strengths of both. This is the second time this week this topic has come up and I think I need to find out. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

I am an introvert and I am dyslectic. This deeply affected me. I am bookmarking this to view when I have one of those days, we all have, that requires a boost. Thanks you for this.

I’m most definitely an introvert, but I became a teacher. The times I’ve made myself get out of my comfort zone always make me feel great, even if I do think I might die during the act of bravery, you know, like saying hi to someone or some such nonesense 😉
Cain’s book is on my Amazon wishlist and I hope to read it soon. Thank you for posting the TedTalk as well. I’ll definitely be back to to peruse your blog’s content.

I have only recently started to explore the idea of being an introvert so it would be great if anyone out there would visit my blog and contribute and share their own experiences of living in an extrovert world! I love the fact that there is a name for these traits that I possess, but I also want to push the boundaries and conceptions of the term.
