How Introverts Can Leverage Cold Email Versus Cold Calling or Networking

How Introverts Can Leverage Cold Email Versus Cold Calling or Networking

If you’re an introvert, you probably already know that you hate cold calling and networking. You probably hate calling a restaurant for reservations, let alone calling someone on the phone to discuss business or sales.

You’re not alone. For those on the receiving end, cold calling is also not a favorite. After all, it seems so spammy, right?

Cold calling, however, still exists for a reason, and that reason is that it does work if you’re a skilled caller. Unfortunately, it can be very difficult for some introverts to overcome their dislike of telephone conversations enough to actually become one of those skilled callers.

Luckily, on the other hand, you aren’t stuck with cold calling in order to get your point across. You can easily take advantage of cold emailing, and see much of the same results.

Whatever you do, don’t let someone tell you that because you’re an introvert, you won’t be good at sales. In fact, many introverts are great at sales. This is for the simple reason that they’re much better an interpersonal connections. When they do connect with someone, it’s at a deeper level. This can make them better at both sympathizing with a consumer’s need, and helping them create a solution to their problem.

I call this the Small Talk Trap.

At first, everything seems to be going well, but after a few basic questions the conversation stalls. Due to my introversion, I often found myself talking to extroverts and stuck in the Small Talk Trap. As a result, my conversations would fizzle. It took me a lot of reading and some uncomfortable experimentation to find a way out of the Small Talk Trap. Today, I want to share the simple system I use to get to an interesting conversation.

Best 5 Monsters to Free Yourself of this Halloween

monster_houseTrick or treat? Personally, I’m tired of doing tricks and am ready for treats. Whether it’s a treat from someone or one I give myself, with Halloween on the calendar, there are Best 5 Monsters to Free Yourself of this Halloween.

Have you ever heard, “When you seek the truth, ask a wise woman?” No that is not me who I’m speaking about, but instead, it’s on the cover of my box of Wisdom of the Crone cards. It’s a gift one of my family members gave to me a few years ago.

Today was one of those “help me I’m drowning,” I’m in overwhelm, kind of days. Overwhelm is a feeling; that’s it. Most of the time I bring it on or cause it myself.

This Crone deck card is one I’ve read before, and I get it on an intellectual basis: acceptance.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Acceptance.

But maybe because of recent happenings in kind of a haunting way, the words of guidance were, well, haunting.
